The Taylor 114e Acoustic Electric Guitar delivers Taylor quality at a working musician’s price!

The Taylor 114e is part of the redesigned 100 series of acoustic guitars. The Taylor 114e Acoustic Guitar boasts a bookmatched Sitka Spruce soundboard with Taylor's "X" bracing. The Taylor 114e also features their Grand Auditorium body style, which is a slightly smaller body that is similar to the classic dreadnought shape of the 110 model, yet delivers that characteristic big dreadnought tone. The back and sides are constructed from layered sapele, which possesses a similar aesthetic and tone as mahogany. As a tonewood, sapele is denser and harder than mahogany, so it has a slightly brighter sound than its more familiar counterpart. Sitka Spruce grows in a coastal "pocket" from Northern California to Alaska. This dense, straight-grained wood has the highest strength and elasticity-to-weight ratio among available tonewoods, an attribute that makes it an ideal material not only for soundboards, but for internal bracing, as well.

When it's time to plug in and hit the stage, the Taylor 114e features the Expression System Transducer, or ES-T, is a single-source, under-saddle transducer with individual elements for each string. The ES-T has an onboard preamp and features a custom-voiced EQ with a simplified volume, bass, and treble control layout. The system is powered by a 9-volt battery, with a battery life LED power indicator. The pickup also has a Phase switch for feedback control, which is located on the preamp board inside the soundhole. The Taylor 114e is equally at home on stage, in studio, or the front porch. A Taylor Gig Bag is included.

Comments about Taylor 114e Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

It's a Taylor, so of course the build quality and acoustic tone are great, but my favorite part of this guitar is the preamp. Very transparent with the perfect amount of output.

Comments about Taylor 114e Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

My favorite thing about this guitar is the quality of the preamp. Obviously the build quality and acoustic tone are top-notch, but the transparency and output of the preamp are what really stood out from other guitars within the same price range. A great choice for any level of player!

"Unbeatable price and sound"

By

Comments about Taylor 114e Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The Taylor T114 is one of those inexpensive quality guitars that gives you a professional feel and sound. Regardless of your skill level, professional or beginner, this guitar delivers a clean tone with lots of natural sustain. The T114 comes with hight end die cast chrome tuners, forward shifted pattern bracings, tortoise pick guard over a beautifully finish sitka spruce wood. This is will make a great addition to any guitar collection. This has been a review by BLKMDL at Canoga Park.

Comments about Taylor 114e Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The name Taylor is synonymous with quality in terms of guitars. Even at this superb price, expect a quality instrument in the 114E, where you are unlikely to relegate to collecting dust. Constructed with solid Sitka on top with Sapele back and sides, the finish is beautiful. The playability is great! A standout feature is the ability to plug in as an electric guitar, with simple 2 band EQ controls.

Comments about Taylor 114e Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have been an employee at Sam Ash for nearly five years and I have been happy to be a Taylor dealer the entire time. They make high quality instruments across the board. Whether you're spending $600 or a couple thousand, you're going to get an instrument that competes with anything in its price range, and in many cases, Taylor competes favorably with guitars in higher ranges. They are a great company, starting at the top with Bob Taylor.
