This is a whole lot of snare for not a whole lot of cash. Don't miss your opportunity to get your hands on a Bubinga Birch snare at an unbelievable price.Combining Bubinga and Birch is one of Tama's signature recipes when it comes to shell construction. It is this same design that has helped propel the Starclassic to the top of the market. After numerous requests from fans and artists alike, the Sound Lab Project series now offers a Bubinga Birch snare. With a beautiful exterior ply of naturally finished white oak, the S.L.P. Backbeat is just as visually stunning as it is musically. But, the drum's best qualities stem from the Bubinga Birch blend inside. Marrying the rich, dark tonality of three interior Bubinga plies with the cracking projection of four Birch outer plies, this snare is remarkably sensitive while still have a profound depth that's great for rock or other forms of heavier music.

Comments about Tama Limited Edition ‘S.L.P.’ Backbeat Bubinga Birch 7"x14" Snare Drum:
I am a performance and recording drummer. I use a variety of snares and tunings depending genre. I play a custom built stave constructed Bubinga drums set. They provide great attach and warm tones, ideal for recording (TAMA Bubinga...WOW). I was looking for a signature sounding snare, the TAMA Backbeat Bubinga snare had that sound. The difference of TAMA's new SPL snare is the way it is crafted combining various wood plies that set this snares sound apart...Brilliant tone, attack while having a smooth sustain. I wanted a snare that would keep up at a lower tuning, it does, this snare is loud and stands out in any drum performance.
It ship with the Evans G1 Coated, I personally prefer the ST Dry coated head.
