The SPD-30 combines cutting-edge percussion sounds with the latest triggering technology. By utilizing Roland's state of the art V-drum technology, the SPD-30 has an amazingly natural and responsive feel. With more than 600 percussive sounds and 50 separate kits, the SPD30 guarantees that you'll always have the right sound for the gig. In addition, the SPD-30 features thirty on board effects including separate EQ, limiter, and ambience effects. This allows you to tweak any of the 600 plus sounds just to your liking.

The built-in phrase-looper is another added bonus of the SPD-30. This is an excellent creative tool that allows you to play a passage and record it on the fly, loop it, and then overdub up to 2 additional layers to complete a phrase. There’s space for 50 phrases so you’ll have plenty of room to play around, and for additional storage you can back up phrases to USB memory.

The SPD-30 also features 4 dual-trigger inputs, plus a hi-hat controller for adding pads. This allows you to create a mini kit, or connect triggers from an acoustic kit. The Roland Octapad SPD-30 also features a stereo headphone jack, output jacks, mix in jack, foot switch jack, MIDI in/out, USB memory connector, and a USB MIDI connector. The SPD-30 is incredibly durable and weighs only 8.7 lbs. It's large, back-lit LED display makes it easier to see on dim lit stages. This makes it perfect for the gigging musician.

The octa pad gives you 8 triggers that are programmable to play 1 of the 600 sounds. Or have fun exploring the 50 pre-programmed kits. Works perfect alone or as an add on to your kit. Also has 4 available inputs for separate drum triggers. I am a sales associate @ Sam Ash Ontario.

Comments about Roland Octapad SPD-30 Total Percussion Pad:

This drum pad module is the key to a full range of auxiliary percussion at your fingertips. The eight fully-programmable pads are easy to assign, and have great touch-velocity sensitivity for the most delicate of playing. Pads feel great and have great natural rebound response.

The module has a full range of very natural sounding percussion instruments, from standard shakers to rare African drum sounds. I would recommend this product for anyone who is looking for a high quality percussion pad with an excellent bank of sounds to complete their set-up!

Comments about Roland Octapad SPD-30 Total Percussion Pad:

The new SPDS 30 is a great option for the gig'ing drummer to add a huge array of dynamic auxiliary percussion and sounds to his or her live set up. This pad allows you to leave the bags of cowbells, shakers, maracas, wood blocks, tambourines and all their associated mounts, holders, shelves and mic'ing gear at home, while adding such sounds as 808's, claps, and symphonic sounds such as kettle drums or marimbas, seamlessly to your live shows.

The easy pair of 1/4 outputs makes running the audio into the house PA a snap, while still allowing volume control and sound tweaking to be done at the pad.

This is the most obvious choice for a dyed in the wool acoustic purist to simplify her or her live load out and mix in some purely electronic and synthetic sounds to the mix.

The Roland SPD 30 is a state of the art percussion pad that is chock full of features. The ability to edit every sound and put separate effects on the pads really made the pad flexible and gave everyone that uses it the opportunity to have their own sound. The looping ability also made it easy to construct custom loops and phrases to accompany anything. Quality product!

This thing is great if you are looking to expand your drumkit electronically. the new firmware increases the amounts of kits to 90+ from 50. the greatest use you can get from the octopad is looping. setup a 3 layered loop of percussion sounds and then improve over it on your acoustic kit, or play over it on the octopad itself. you can also record loops, the pads are pressure sensitive, you can toggle effects, and it has a great big screen and is really simple to use.

Comments about Roland Octapad SPD-30 Total Percussion Pad:

This is probably one of rolands most infamous units in recent years. Used all over the world by pros and rookies alike, the spd30 is packed with tons of sounds, over 500! All realistic and rich in tonality. The velocity is on point and the responce is great. I've used this for jamming, live sets and recording and it has never let me down. I recommend this to any serious drummer looking for another piece to add to their percussive arsenal.

Over 600 legendary percussive Roland sounds in a powerful, easy to use mobile percussion pad, what else do you want? Some of the most popular new features are the built-in phrase-looper and the ability to layer up to 2 sounds at a time. The SPD-30 also features 4 dual-trigger inputs, plus a hi-hat controller for adding pads to expand and get your feet playing as well. The SPD-30 is highly recommended.
