The Kerope series combines Zildjian's rich history of tradition with the modern cymbal making techniques of their master craftsmen to create one of the most authentic vintage K recreations to date. Each cymbal is hand-crafted using a 14-step process that utilizes Zildjian's 390 plus years of innovation. These cymbals have a warm, dark sound that is extremely rich and complex. Their unique design gives them an already played-in feel while the proprietary patina finishing process gives them the sonic and aesthetic characteristics of a vintage cymbal. The weight of each cymbal is hand-written under the bell.

THIS PAIR OF HATS CAN BE USED IN ANY SITUATION! I THINK THEY SOUND GREAT IN A NEAR FIELD OR MICED SETTING AS WELL. THEY HAVE A TONALITY FROM BACK IN THE 50'S AND 60'S YOU JUST DONT SEE OR HEAR IN CYMBALS NOW A DAYS! TRY THEM OUT AND YOU WILL SEE THE DIFFERENCE IN TONE AND QUALITY! I LOVE THE K LINE FROM ZILDJIAN AND ZILDJIAN HAS HIT IT OUT OF THE PARK ON HERE AGAIN!!!

Comments about Zildjian Kerope 14" Hi-Hats:

I'm more of a hard hitting Bonham type drummer, and I can bust just about every cymbol except the hats, except maybe the ride. But, I like to invest a little more in those cymbols, since I'm going to have them for a while. If I were in the market for a new set of hihats, these would be the ones I would get.

These hi-hats are great! You really get your money's worth from Zildjian and they're craftsmanship. These have a loud, crisp, warm sound. They sound great with Jazz but are versatile and can be used with a plethora of other genres as well. A great buy!

Love the kerope series! Zildjian really knocked it out of the park with these. The have a great dark sound that isn't fatiguing to the ears at all. They're a little more washy than K's, but in a good way! In general really awesome hats, and with 2 years of break protection from Zildjian, you can't go wrong!

Close your eyes and listen to these and I promise you will open them and look for those magic 3 words, Made. In. Istanbul. Let's be honest, modern hi hats sound like, well, modern hi hats. Meinl makes some good attempts with the Byzance series and their new vintage pure looks promising, but there is a reason Zildjians marked 'Made in Istanbul' still demand a premium.

There is that roughly smooth sound that vintage Zildjian hats have that can't be mimic'd... until now.

This is a real hands on review from Ryan @ Sam Ash Phoenix.

Man, these things are like playing a vintage cymbol that's been really taken care of. I know talking about music is kindof like dancing about a painting, so you've really just gotta play these with a kit. They're really easy to EQ with a kit, and cut through any mix without being annoying.
