The Classic Drum Machine for Composition, Recording and Accompaniment!

As one of the most popular drum machines ever made, the SR-16™ has been used by everyone from songwriters to live performers to remix engineers as their drum machine of choice. The reason is simple: it features a great selection of 233 realistic, natural drum sounds, offered both in dry form and sampled with the incomparable Alesis digital reverbs. The exclusive Dynamic Articulation™ feature enables a drum sound to change its tonal content as it's played harder for truly realistic performances. The SR-16 features 50 preset patterns that were actually played in by top studio drummers, not just programmed and quantized. You'll find enough built-in rhythmic variations (with A, B and two Fill sections) for composing complete arrangements, and you can create and save your own customized patterns and songs. Plus, the SR-16 also provides complete MIDI implementation, a footswitch input, flexible programming and editing features and velocity-sensitive pad buttons. Plus, it's so easy to use that you'll be up-and-running and composing new music in minutes. Whether you need a songwriting partner or an accompanyist for live performance, turn to the all-time world standard in drum machines: the SR-16.

Comments about Alesis SR16 Drum Machine:

I have had one for about 20 years, still works great! works great in recording, don't use it live.(have a drummer) Works as a midi programmer, works for practice. Bottomline: as far as a simple, small, and great sounding drum machine for a reasonable price...you found it

Comments about Alesis SR16 Drum Machine:

I own this equipement, let me tell you that the sound is very great, and easy to use. However, I didn't master all the futures that drum machine offers yet because of timing issue. I am a one man band, this drum helping alot.
The only drawback is that, it is not very suitable for international rythm such as samba, but you can creat your own beat and save it in the machine. So I gave it 4 stars because of that.

              nice drum machine

Comments about Alesis SR16 Drum Machine:

"This drum machine has killer sounds, alot of the patches sound like real drums! The two foot switch jacks are cool for playing live and the four output jacks let me run the sounds thru seperate channels on my mixer. I'm also using the tape backup jacks with my computer and my ipod so I can save all my beats and reload them in fast. I use the Alesis mostly for live, but it's also good for practicing guitar and getting ideas for new songs."

Comments about Alesis SR16 Drum Machine:

"I got to say when i first brought the machine i was alittle bit worried about it being so cheat. I thought the sound was going to be bad coming out of it , but man was wrong. It's a great machine for jamming with your guitar or even your bass. BUY BUY. Its aslo great for beginner producers who don't want to buy the expensive stuff. Trust me if you can't work this machine then you are going to have hard time on the big drum machines. It has alot of features on it. You will have a blast plaing along with it."
