The solid wood Martin Dreadnought Junior is fashioned for player comfort, clear powerful tone and easy action.

The affordably-priced Dreadnought Junior is ideal for smaller players, students, travelers, or anyone who aspires to the clarity and depth of tone that has defined Martin instruments for more than 180 years. Fashioned for player comfort, clear powerful tone and easy action, the Dreadnought Junior is reduced to approximately 15/16" of the full Martin 14-fret Dreadnought dimension (14-1/4" width at the lower bout) with an expressive 24" scale length.

The Martin Dreadnought Junior features a solid Sitka spruce top and scalloped 1/4" high performance X-bracing with a single asymmetrical tone bar. The back and sides are bookmatched from sapele. Richlite, an ebony alternative with similar hardness and appearance, is chosen for the fingerboard and bridge. The Dreadnought Junior (aka "D Jr") comes factory-equipped with Fishman's Sonitone sound reinforcement system and includes a nylon gig bag.

Great JR sized guitar

Comments about Martin D Jr. E Dreadnought Junior Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Great jr sized guitar. Just a little smaller than a full sized dreadnaught, the dreadnaught jr is 15/16 of a full sized Martin but is great for travel or for smaller players. Awesome tone and a comfortable neck. Great playing guitar with good electronics. And it comes with a nice gig bag as well.

Comments about Martin D Jr. E Dreadnought Junior Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've always been a proponent of small form factor guitars, but many of them had compromises on quality. Over here? No! You get Martin, through and through. You can pick this guitar up and trust that the feel will be there, like an old friend. I would even argue that it's easier to play than most electrics with the shortened scale. Consider picking one up and understanding the joy of the smaller guitar.

Small in size, big in tone

Comments about Martin D Jr. E Dreadnought Junior Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The Martin Dreadnought Junior is not only good for those with smaller hands but for those who travel since its size is great for taking it on trips but you still get a very fat, full sound for its size. The Spruce/Sapele wood combo gives for a great all around tone.

Comments about Martin D Jr. E Dreadnought Junior Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Martin has done it again! This small dreadnaught just kills it. All solid wood in a travel size package perfect for practicing on the road or giging without having to take up a ton of room. Someone call Ed Sheeran and let him know these came out!!!

Comments about Martin D Jr. E Dreadnought Junior Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is as good as it gets at this price point. It's scaled down for younger or smaller players but it's also a great travel guitar. Real wood (Sapele) back and sides and a solid spruce top. And the Fishman electronics sound great for amplified playing. Comes with a gig bag. Nice package.

Comments about Martin D Jr. E Dreadnought Junior Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This compact dreadnaught is a great new offering from Martin. Its' smaller size makes it ideal for travel or for anyone looking for a more manageable sized guitar. The neck profile is a very comfortable soft "V" shape that plays well across the entire length. The all solid wood construction ensures that this guitar has plenty of tone, even though it's smaller than the traditional dreadnaught. The Fishman electronics sound great plugged in and is very easy to use. This is a great guitar for anyone looking for a more compact instrument that doesn't lack in tone.

Comments about Martin D Jr. E Dreadnought Junior Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The new Dreadnought Jr from Martin may be the best travel sized guitar on the planet. For the same money as HPL guitars you get an all-solid wood instrument, with electronics. Absolutely perfect for acoustic gigs and practicing. This is not going to replace your high-end models, but the tone is excellent for recording. Sort of like an OM in terms of tone - decent low end, fantastic clarity and articulation that cuts right through the mix!
