The BTB series defines what the “Boutique Bass” is all about.

The ever-evolving Ibanez BTB series has always aimed to expand the player’s range of creative expression. The elegantly contoured, massive body of select tone woods combines with dedicated hardware and electronics to produce huge, rich tones. Neck-through construction, a two-octave fretboard, and a super-deep cutaway, promise sleek playability and enduring sustain.

The BTB745 is a 5-string bass featuring an Ash wing body, with a Walnut top/Mahogany back, for a sound that is deep and rich. The 35” scale, 5pc Maple/Rosewood through-neck supports superior tone, and encourages massive sustain. A Rosewood fretboard sports highly-durable Stainless Steel frets, to create a bright, articulate sound, and a “zero” fret provides accurate intonation, while allowing open strings to ring with the same resonance as notes played up the neck.

Electronics include Bartolini BH2 pickups for a tight bottom-end, punchy mid-range, and smooth response. Combined with the Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ, w/3-way mid-frequency switch, the BTB745 contains tonal variations that enhance simple chord work, as well as complex soloing. The Mono-rail V bridge allows for a wide range of adjustment, with each isolated saddle securely locked down to the body for optimum vibration transfer, and minimal sympathetic string interference. D'Addario NYXL strings are installed to expand dynamic range and harmonic response. A high-tech Neutrik locking output jack insures a secure connection, preventing accidental disconnect. Case not included.

This is a pro bass on every level from Ibanez. The Bartolini pickups paired with the Ibanez built in active electronics make for an extremely versatile instrument. Plugging this bass in directly to an interface the lows are clean and pronounced with plenty of mids and highs for slapping. A truly gorgeous instrument,This bass sounds as good as it looks.

The BTB745 is one of the most versatile basses I have ever played. Its absolutely great for any style of music whether it's jazz, to funk, to straight rock n' roll. Its tonal value is fantastic with a well rounded low and mid range that allows for a little bit of a growl, and yet there's a crisp and clear side to the highs so you can distinguish every note. Plus is feels amazing! Awesome bass.

      Beast Bass

This bass is a monster, and one of the best in the price range. Try to find another bass under a grand with Bartolini pickups, or any 3rd party pickups for that matter. The electronics on this bass are well laid out, well planned, and are all of the highest quality, right down to the locking neutrik jack where you plug it in. And, it looks pretty cool, too.

MOST BEAUTIFUL BASS I'VE LAID EYES ON

Ibanez has done it again, the brand w, the best and most creative body designs in my hones opinion has made yet another masterpiece with this Boutique 5 string bass. he walnut and mahogany body set it apart characteristically from many of the other 5 string bass guitars in its class. Outside of design, it also excels in function; the BH2 pickups that come installed are very responsive and deliver some of the richest bassiest tones around working in conjunction with the 3-band EQ and mid-frequency switch.

        5 string BTB

I have never been a fan of anything over a 4 string honestly. This bass actually feels really well to me. The mahogany neck is pretty sweet and helps bring out some good tone. Its not too fat and I may try one out on an upcoming recording for something new. I have always loved Ibanez, so I feel at home on this.

The BTB basses have taken high end features and made them available to the masses. After being around for about 20 years, Ibanez has continued to upgrade this boutique style instrument with premium features. This bass includes a zero fret for better intonation, monorail bridge saddles that isolate each string for increased tone and sustain, and neck through construction. The multiple tone wood combination creates a complex and versatile sound while the Bartolini electronics allow you to sculpt your tone with great control.
