Universal Audio is a brand deeply rooted in the history of modern recording.
From the original analog 1176 and LA-2A compressors to the digital
technological advances of the Apollo Thunderbolt audio interfaces and UAD DSP
processing cards, UA continues to develop award-winning products that are
designed to outperform the competition for years to come.
Classic, analog hardware, hand-built right here in the United States is only
half of the UA story. Some of the best DSP engineers in the industry work for
Universal Audio, developing their products in direct conjunction with original
hardware manufacturers, using the original design schematics, and having
experienced ears provide guidance for the most exacting DSP-based plug-in
Universal Audio - Audio Interfaces

Universal Audio - Analog Hardware
Currently, the three types of Universal Audio hand-made products include
Channel Strips, Mic Preamps and Compressors, all of which follow the original
designs. Choose among solid-state, tube and hybrid technologies with their own
unique characteristics and sonic palette. The selection of classic UA reissues
maintain the same internal and external elegant simplicity and performance of
their original counterparts.
Universal Audio - UAD-2 + Plug-Ins
When large, plug-in intensive sessions begin overloading your computer
processing power, Universal Audio provides the solution. UAD-2 + Plug-ins.
UAD-2 is a collection of PCIe and FireWire based hardware, with four distinct
processing levels, providing dedicated DSP for plug-in processing, greatly
expanding your project capacity. Each level of UAD system comes with its own
dedicated plug-ins and custom versions even allow for your own personal choice
of additional plug-ins. The UAD library of plug-ins consists of over 90
available plug-ins faithfully developed to recreate some of the most sought
