Finally, no more ugly masking tape! These plastic tapes make it easier for students to learn fingering positions. This neat, durable tape can be easily and accurately placed on the fingerboard of any string instrument. Each package contains 1 roll of red, 1 roll of blue and 1 roll of yellow. These colorful tapes are designed for younger students who are helped by more visual distinction in the fingering positions. Be careful what you put on your precious instrument. This tape is acid free and will not harm the surface of your instrument. The package of 3 colors contains a total of 144" of 1/8" wide tape, enough for as many as 15 uses.

Good for violin, not quite for guitar

Pros

  • Durable
  • High Quality

Cons

    Best Uses

This is just the ticket for violin students. It says enough for 15 violins; maybe if you just tape the first 5 "fretting" positions, or just a couple of marks for shift positions.

For a guitar player using a violin, you will likely use up a whole roll doing your violin once or twice. But you get 3.

I used the red one on my drop-tuned guitar. It had enough had I put a small strip between each pair of frets, but ran out going around the neck on 3 5 7 9 12 15

      Pros

      • Good Value

      Cons

        Best Uses

        • Guitar alternate tunings

I play guitar in a lower than standard tuning, and have been looking for something to tape over the fretboard markers embedded in the wood.
