The Bluesbird reflects Guild’s return to yet another historic solid body model. Originally released in 1970 as the solid body counterpart to the M-75 Aristocrat, the Bluesbird was subject to a few design changes over the decades. Today’s reissue features a carved maple top and maintains many of the aesthetic traits of the M-75 Bluesbird of the late 60s. Its lightweight chambered mahogany body allows for improved resonance and unparalleled comfort, making this guitar one of the lightest in its class.

The Bluesbird features a 24 3/4” scale, and fast-playing vintage C shaped neck. While many of the Bluesbird’s specifications remain faithful to the original model, today’s updated version comes equipped with USA-made Seymour Duncan pickups, as well as a TonePros locking tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece to offer the most versatile version of this guitar to date. Grover Sta-Tite tuning machines and Guild’s deluxe padded gig bag round out this ultimate package.

I looked at this guitar for months, frequently put it in my cart, but I finally ordered. This is a great guitar. The only set up change that I made was to lower the bridge; the neck and intonation were spot on when it arrived. It plays very well, love the Seymour Duncan pickups which are very clear, takes pedals well, and offers a wide variety of tones; great sustain and resonance. The weight is very comfortable and a couple of pounds lighter than a Les Paul, the neck is very comfortable - everything is great. I have the Iced Tea Burst which is darker and more brown than the pictures with very little amber color; it looks great but darker than the picture.

I have a couple of Gibson Les Pauls and this is not a LP copy; it's close in some ways but unique in its own right. I have a great older USA Hamer with Seymour Duncan pickups and it reminds me of that too. If I were playing out right now, this Bluesbird, a Strat, and an acoustic would be enough to cover most sets.

It comes with a gigbag but does fit (tightly) into a standard rectangular strat case - it does NOT fit into a fitted Les Paul case. The pickguard is in the gigbag pocket; I'm VERY happy that they didn't mount it at the factory; the top is too nice to cover up with a plastic pickguard. I wish more companies did this.

I would buy it again. It's a keeper.
