60 Watt 3 channel Tube Combo 2x12 speaker

The HT Stage is a highly versatile amplifier suited to a wide range of playing styles and situations.

The Clean Channel has two modes, ‘boutique’ and ‘modern’ and its own Bass and Treble tone controls providing the widest possible range of clean tones. The Voice switch reconfigures both the preamplifier voicing and gain structure, and also the power amplifier damping to reproduce either ringing Class A performance in the ‘boutique’ mode, or very clean and tight Class AB tones in the ‘modern’ setting.

The HT Stage has two overdrive channels which share a common EQ section and like the Clean Channel, each of the overdrive channels have Voice switches which allow the character of each channel to be changed, providing a broad palette of overdriven tones.

The overdrive channels are characterized by a tone, which is high in gain, but lacks any of the detached top-end ‘fizz’ often found in similar designs. This is a result of unique preamplifier and power amplifier shaping techniques, which also benefit the player in the way the overdrives clean up beautifully as the guitar volume is reduced.

Even at the most extreme settings, the overdrive channels remain natural sounding. The Patent-Applied-For ISF (Infinite Shape Feature) control is unique to Blackstar Amplification and represents a major step forward in tone shaping flexibility. The ISF control shifts the response of the three-control tone stack between a US type response at one end, and at the other a UK type response. Importantly, in between the two extremes, lie an infinite number of alternative tone choices that would be otherwise unavailable.

The amplifier also features a completely natural sounding digital reverb, which is outstandingly musical on both clean and crunch tones and raises the benchmark for guitar amplifier specific reverb design. A Dark/Bright switch allows the overall reverb characteristics to be modified to suit different tastes and playing styles.

Comments about Blackstar HT Stage 60 2x12" Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I LOVE this amp. I wanted something versatile that could go from warm, glistening cleans to viscious, metal overdrive. This thing does it all, plus everything in between. I highly recommend it over the other Stage Series combos due to the 3 channels and the footswitch (more versatility).

I don't know what else you could ask for - when pushed hard, this thing not only has amazing metal tones, but it still retains clarity. Things don't get muddy like a lot of other amps I've owned. It also switches very smoothly, which a lot of amps struggle with. When you hit the footswitch it transitions to the desired channel without any "clunk".

Overdrive 2 channel is amazing - I keep telling myself that I'll play on OD1 and reserve OD2 for leads or to cut through the mix, but I can't stop myself from just putting the pedal to the metal and playing on OD2 non-stop. It is so mean, I just want to stand in front of this amp and riff all day long. This is my go-to amp, and the fact that it was priced so well makes it a deal you can't pass up. This out-performs most combos that cost 3 times as much!

Great tone, I own an Egnater Renegade 212, and for about 500.00 less I got the Blackstar which sounds even better for what I do.

Comments about Blackstar HT Stage 60 2x12" Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I'm the guitar player for a rock band in the Philly area. Back on some Saturday in January 2011, me and my bass player were fed up with the sterile sound of the solid state amps we were using. I was playing a line6 AX2 and he was playing something even worse. We both decided to go out and drop some coin on a new tube amp. We brought the drummer along with us to be the DD. We tried many tube amps in the music stores we visited on that day. We tried Fenders, Ibanez (yes they make a small tube amp), Marshalls, Voxs (the small ones) and Bugera's. The Blackstar HT60 blew everything away. I play everything from Metallica to the Eagles and this amp does it all. The best thing about this amp is the Voxish chime when the clean channel has the button in (i think) and the channel volume is around 11 (yes it goes to 11) o'clock. Really digging the sound...My setup uses the FX loop for all my pedals - overdrives, distortions, delay, chorus, EQ, etc... You definitely want to use the effects loop for the distortion pedals. They sound terrible in front of the pre-amp. The weird thing is that I seldom use my pedals when I record. I can dial in the sweet tube sound with the amp controls in seconds flat. For live situations, I bought an EQ pedal to supplement the lack of a master eq control. I use the eq pedal rarely but it does come in handy with some of the strange rooms in the Delaware valley. The only CON about this amp is that it is heavy. I try to get the other guys in the band to load the beast into the truck after gigs but they are now wise to my antics... There are castor mounts on the bottom of the amp but the threads are metric. You can buy castors from the UK and have them imported (joy) or you can remove the castor mounts and screw in some good 'ole American steel castors from [@]. The wheel is the most significant invention in the history of mankind. But that's a different review...In closing, YOU MUST BUY THIS AMP!RROCK ON!
