Comments about ESP LTD F-105 5 String Bass:

I've been playing bass for 18 years and have only played a few basses this nice. I just can't put it down. It's easy to play and has excellent tone control. I jammed on it for 3 hour the first day I got it, playing everything from Mozart to Slipknot and it all sounded great.

Comments about ESP LTD F-105 5 String Bass:

I got this bass for Christmas of 2009. Even with the factory strings and no set-up, it was amazing out of the box (I ordered it from Sam Ash). Shortly after, i had the dry and pretty useless factory strings for DR 45-130's.

This bass can definitely take extreme tension. The person i had put on the strings accidentally tuned the low B an octave high... But anyway-

When i got it, this bass sounded crisp and clear and i was so delighted. The electronics worked like a charm. I loved to go from extreme bass to almost guitar like treble, then mix it up. There are a ton of basses inside of this thing.

I dropped this about four feet onto a solid concrete floor on it's bottom. There is an annoying chip in it, but it stayed completely in tune (or about 5 cents sharp and flat here and there). So you can take my word that this can take a hit.

HERE ARE SOME OF THE FAULTS OF THIS BASS BASED ON MY OBSERVATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Pick-Ups: Right now, (remember, i received it Christmas--& months ago.) the pick-ups sound like they fell into a 6 foot deep mud puddle. No matter what i do, there is nothing i can do to get the small slap of fat, ugly, and murky sound out. I've messed around with my amp and the closer i get to clean, the more buzz i get.

This might be due to the battery or the strings, but i'm doubtful of the strings. They are DR coated strings and i use GHS Fast Fret on them frequently.

The Balance knob on mine feels like twisting a plastic slinky feels like. I feel like it might just pop off any time.

Comments about ESP LTD F-105 5 String Bass:

I bought this bass from Sam Ash, and i'd say their price is equal to any others. This bass is extremely durable. The strap i had on it fell off (because it was a low quaity strap) and the bass dropped a good 4 feet. It's paint chipped, and that's it. The action is a bit high, but, like most 5 strings, it's not so bad.
