Comments about GHS H3045 Heavy Boomers Long Scale Electric Bass 4 String Set (50-115):

These are ideal for tuning just a touch lower than a normal 4-string. You can tune them to EADG if you like, and they'll be louder; mostly what I use them for is recording... usually tuned down to C or Db. This mellows the tone a little, as well, fine unless you're looking for a bright sound. In which case, I have another four-string standing by with the four lowest strings of a five-string set on it, tuned UP to C or Db.
I've got nothing bad to say about this set. I don't break bass strings myself, so I haven't switched these out; haven't found any flawed windings, etc.

Comments about GHS H3045 Heavy Boomers Long Scale Electric Bass 4 String Set (50-115):

These are really nice strings for Metal and Hard rock players that tune low because of the heavy gauge these strings will Provide maximum tone with less fret buzz when tuning low or using a shorter scaled bass. The only Prblem I found is that because of the extra width of these strings there is a Problem getting them to fit in a standard bass bridge( such as that on a fender).
