Comments about Carlo Robelli CR301 Violin Outfit:

I'm learning to play the violin, having taking lessons for just 2 months. This is my very 1st violin. After listening to several violins, that were played by a very nice sales person, I chose the CR301. Recently, before the start of class, I approached my teacher asking him for his thoughts on my violin. Upon his inspection as well as playing it, he proclaimed that it was a very well made and sounding instrument. My teacher really made the violin sing! He said that it was "balanced across its strings." His only modification would be to swap out its strings for high quality steel ones. The violin was supplied with inexpensive steel strings. I'd swapped them out much higher quality strings having a synthetic core. In his opinion those strings made the violin sound too warm. He felt that it needed to sound "brighter" by using high quality steel strings. I next asked if the violin was "student level." His answer was that it wasn't, that it was suitable for advance violinist. In the hands of an expert, this is a wonderful sounding violin. I'm gratified with my purchase.
