Comments about Jean Baptiste JBSOUSAL1 Sousaphone:

You're simply not going to find a better sousaphone out there at this price. With the Jean Baptiste Sousaphone, you'll be ensured ease of playability alongside a solid sound. The intonation on this horn is pretty consistent and the valves move easily, too. I would highly recommend this horn to any student, beginner, band director, or musician on a budget.

Comments about Jean Baptiste JBSOUSAL1 Sousaphone:

As a tuba player and former teacher, this horn is a win-win for any middle school or high school marching band. For many reasons:

#1: You can't find a NEW, quality, BRASS sousaphone for this price. This isn't a cheap fiberglass sousaphone, this is the real deal.

#2: Comes with a hard shell case, mouthpiece, and all the accessories. With most new sousaphones all of this is a separate cost.

#3: It is relatively light weight and easy to maneuver and play with either in a parade or for a marching band halftime show.

The horn is responsive in all registers and easy to tune and play. No issues with balance and it sits comfortably on your shoulder.

This is a hands-on staff review from Rich @ Sam Ash Las Vegas.

Comments about Jean Baptiste JBSOUSAL1 Sousaphone:

This is a FANTASTIC instrument perfect for anyone with an interest in lower registers of music. This sousaphone creates the perfect foundation of sound when accompanied by supporting registers. You can bet that even just one of these will cut through and give you that bass sound your music has been in desperate need of. The sound of the sousaphone especially in marching bands is a MUST HAVE. Even from back field you can hear and feel the richness of the bass. When looking for a supporting bass instrument, there is no better choice. This is a real hands on product review from Madison @ Sam Ash Charlotte!

                Happy Playing!

The Jean Baptiste JBSOUSAL1 Sousaphone is a durable and versatile instrument! It would fill the need of a tubist in a marching band. It's not too heavy so you won't kill your back. The Sound is beautiful and the valves work beautifully as long as you end to them.

Comments about Jean Baptiste JBSOUSAL1 Sousaphone:

This is a very well made and easy to play instrument for anyone using it for indoor or outdoor use. The nickel silver valves and tuning slides are designed to hold up better even when exposed to the elements. The lacquer finish is beautiful, making the horn look as good as it sounds. Also included is a mouthpiece and a durable hardshell case with solid wheels, so the instrument will be protected well and is very easy to move for load in and load out. When compared with similar instruments offering similar features, this sousaphone definitely shows its value.

Comments about Jean Baptiste JBSOUSAL1 Sousaphone:

Big sound for a small bore sous. The small bore requires less air and gives each note more response (easier to play). However, the sound is not sacrificed. Still has a warm but big sound.
The valves are super slick, responsive and quality. Not the heaviest sous I've played, which is great for marching bands. Also really like the positioning of the bell, feels much less restrictive.
