Improving talent? Time to find a trombone to match!

The Jean Baptiste ST-481F is an intermediate tenor trombone with an F-attachment, allowing the horn to play both in the key of Bb and the key of F. Intermediate trombonists who are advancing from a straight slide trombone to the F attachment find a trigger trombone much easier to play. You can access notes higher up on the slide that are played further down the slide on a straight trombone. For example, F which is played in the 6th position can be played in the first position with a trigger. Advanced trombonists love the quicker access to notes as they are accessible in different positions with the trigger.

The ST-481F comes equiped with a medium large bore and open wrap, easily providing a full sound with little resistance, without losing that focused tone and control that many advancing students still need. The nickel-silver outer slide and 1-piece chrome inner slide will resist corrosion and pitting so all you need to keep your slide operating smoothly is some oil and some care.

Combined with the included deluxe carry case and mouthpiece, this is an ideal choice for students advancing to a higher level and beginning to play more challenging works.

Comments about Jean Baptiste ST481F Trombone with F Attachment:

As all Jean Baptiste instruments are, this trombone is pretty cheap. But more expensive that it should be. The build is alright. The lacquer is actually pretty good for Jean Baptiste. It doesn't start to peel away three hours after you've bought it. The F trigger is super temperamental, though. You'll notice after you buy it that there's a god spot, and that's the only place where you can actually trigger the F key. However, after a month of having it, I started to have troubles with it again. I don't recommend buying this instrument, even if you're low on budget. If you want a trombone with an F attachment, don't get this one.
