The Guild B-140E Acoustic-Electric Bass Guitar carries on the legacy of its mid-1970s predecessors, all at a price that's within reach for the working musician.

The Westerly Collection pays homage to Guild's early history renowned for exceptional craftsmanship, quality, and for the introduction of many beloved Guild acoustics. Inspired by this golden era, all Guild Westerly Collection guitars feature premium all solid woods and a lightweight Guild case at an affordable price.

Guild redefined acoustic bass guitars in the mid-1970s with the introduction of the B-50, based on the ever-popular Guild jumbo shape. The Guild B-140E carries on this tradition, providing an impressively loud tone that can be easily amplified with its Fishman Sonitone Bass pickup. Built with a solid Sitka spruce top, and solid African mahogany back and sides, the B-140E features an Indian rosewood fingerboard and bridge, NuBone nut and saddle, and mother-of-pearl rosette. This model also has a 1-1/2" nut width on a vintage shaped Guild neck, an iconic Chesterfield headstock emblem reminiscent of 1960s Guilds, a period-correct tortoiseshell pickguard, and Guild's new lightweight polyfoam case. Available in Natural gloss finish.

Comments about Guild Westerly Collection B-140E Acoustic-Electric Bass Guitar:

Lately, I've found myself playing more frequent gigs in intimate settings with only acoustic instruments. It's been a little awkward being the only one plugged in (and hauling around a bunch of gear). The solution? An acoustic bass guitar.

After trying for well over a year to find a bass with a full enough sound to stand up with the other instruments, I came across this beautiful machine! It's perfect for those intimate venues. As a bonus, the Fishman pickup really packs a punch! The bass is nice and light, the neck is thin and the action is so smooth. The Westerly B140E is rapidly become my bass of choice for most gig!

Comments about Guild Westerly Collection B-140E Acoustic-Electric Bass Guitar:

I own Sting Rays, Fender J's and P's, a Yamaha TRB6, Fender Jaguar and a Kubicki. I have played bass for over 30 years and this makes the 25th guitar in my collection.

I love my new B140E!

It looks great, with a flawless finish on really pretty woods with a good action and clean fretwork.

The only "weakness" isn't really a weakness because EVERY acoustic bass I have played isn't very loud. Keeping up with a couple of loud acoustic guitars will be a challenge. The good news is the Fishman pickup and pre works really well, so take along a small combo, like my TC BG250-210.

I have auditioned acoustic basses costing 4x the retail of a B140E and wouldn't pay the extra. I have expensive guitars and basses, but this thing makes it pointless for me to spend more on a nice bass.
