Comments about Ampeg BA-108 Bass Amplifier:

I needed a small practice amp for my room, I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money either haha, I went to Sam Ash and tried this one out... minutes after playing it I was sold. The tone was excellent. I play a 5-string and it handles the Low B with no problem at all. I didn't hear any buzzing. If you need a solid practice amp...look no further.

Comments about Ampeg BA-108 Bass Amplifier:

I have been playing bass for 25 years and I've played most bass amps available at sometime or another. I bought this as an inexpensive quiet amp to jam at my buddy's apartment. W

Wow! Was I pleasantly surprised. First, it will knock the paint off the walls. Second, it sounds absolutely amazing, and third, I will use this for smaller gigs and mic it through the PA . Yes, the tone is that good. It's just as warm as my Ampeg tube amp and 8x10 cabinet but I can carry it with one hand.

Comments about Ampeg BA-108 Bass Amplifier:

Great Sounding amp for the money.
I was totally surprised that it had such rumble in my bedroom, when the amp was on 3/4
simple to use EQ light and compact. Perfect to practice, not sure if you are a volume freak that this would be the amp for you, or to rehearse with a full band.
but it does what its meant to do and does it well.
can use your headphones and plug in your MP3 or CD or PC to play along, I have not messed with the effects loop in the back.

I would defiantly recommend to a friend.

Comments about Ampeg BA-108 Bass Amplifier:

I bought this amp to practice my bass guitar. I was hoping to also use it for recording in my home studio. I found out that the line out is controlled by the volume control and must be turned up to put out a good signal. Problem is that the bass is so loud. The fix is to shut off the speaker by inserting a set of headphones into the headphone jack, this will turn off the speaker allowing you to set the volume control as needed for your line out. You can also use just a blank plug into the headphone jack. Now that I have this figured out, I can use the bass as a pre-amp/DI for recording my bass guitar. Yea !!

As far as a practice amp goes, I'm running an Ibanez GSR-200 bass into this amp and it really sounds fantastic and has plenty of power for a home studio or medium sized club.

I also tried plugging in a regular electric guitar and it sounded fabulous as well. It has a very nice full rich sound.

I also really like the two inputs, one for passive pickups, and one for active pickups. Excellent feature !! I am totally thrilled with this amp !!

Comments about Ampeg BA-108 Bass Amplifier:

I've been playing for 20 years and I have/have used used top notch equipment- Ampeg, SWR, Eden Trace Elliot, Mark Bass, etc. I decided to get something inexpensive to keep at work so I can play during downtime. I originally looked at headphone amps but for $50 more I thought I'd check out combo amps with headphone out jacks... I was surprised that there are even bass amps for under $100. I was more surprised that they sounded good. I found the Ampeg to be quite superior sounding to the Fender Rumble 15, both flatly EQ'd and tweaked for optimum sound. This amp would likely be lacking the power for a kid who wants to play in a loud band but for mixing MP3's and working through headphones, or even using the speaker at moderate levels, it's outstanding. The EQ/sound are great- it is 5 star in the 10 watt amp/headphone amp category.

Comments about Ampeg BA-108 Bass Amplifier:

New to playing the bass, I bought this amp primarily for the excellent tone, power, and features for the $$. There is nothing else in this range I am aware of that has a line out jack.

Can't beat it fot the price!
