An affordable, high-quality rosewood acoustic-electric cutaway: the Yamaha A1R Acoustic-Electric Guitar.

The Yamaha A1R Acoustic-Electric Guitar is the perfect choice if you're looking for a mid-priced guitar with a rich, powerful voice and superior quality & playability. The A1R sports Yamaha's Traditional Western Body Cutaway made with a solid Sitka spruce top and rosewood back & sides. Just as the rest of the A-Series, the A1R boasts updated scalloped bracing for added volume and tonal richness, a High Comfort neck design for an outstanding playing feel, a simplistically elegant aesthetic, and set of long-lasting, premium Elixir strings. Case not included.

The Yamaha A-Series: The Next Level
Designed to be the ideal performance acoustic guitar, the Yamaha A-Series is crafted from the ground up to be perfectly suited to life on the road. With natural, dynamic plugged-in tone and stage-ready simplicity; played-in comfort out of the box thanks to hand-rolled fingerboard edges on a straight taper neck; a custom designed scalloped bracing pattern for a powerful, expressive acoustic tone and Yamaha's legendary road-ready construction to make sure it's ready when you are, night after night, the A-Series is the perfect guitar to take your playing to the next level.

Powerful Acoustic Sound
A new sound has been developed for the A-series that is louder and stronger in the low-mid ranges, thanks to cutting-edge acoustic analysis technology developed by the Yamaha R&D Division. Their analysis led to the development of the updated scalloped bracing for the top board and shorter bracing than normal for the back board. Also, treating the tops with Yamaha's exclusive A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement) process gives the instrument a rich, vintage quality tone, making it sound as though you'd been playing it for years from the very first moment you pick an A-series guitar up.

High Comfort Neck Profile
Extensive research with players, luthiers and guitar techs has given A-Series the feel and playability that today's acoustic-electric players want, whether switching from electric to acoustic on-stage, recording a session with intricate open tunings, or practicing at home. These superb guitars feature a straighter neck taper for easier high-fret playing, and hand-rolled fingerboard edges to achieve a played-in feel.

Simple and Distinctive Looks
The simple, organic design features wood binding and other techniques that capture the warmth of wood. The distinctive shape of the pick guard, which stands out when performing, is a revival of the N1000 guitar that Yamaha released in 1975.

Elixir Strings
A-series guitars are equipped with Elixir NANOWEB 80/20 Bronze Light strings to deliver a lively tone together with extended tone life that players have come to expect from Elixir Strings.

Comments about Yamaha A1r Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Yamaha doesn't slack when it comes to their instruments. A solid top guitar with Tusq nut and saddle help this Western style body resonate beautifully! It is a great competitor to Taylor, Martin and Gibson's that are out their in a similar price range.

Another great Yamaha

Comments about Yamaha A1r Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This model is a relatively new one for Yamaha, and it seems that they've done a great job of design. I recently put it up against several other brands in the same price point and the difference in tone is audible. It's a richer sound than I'd expect from a concert sized guitar, probably due to the torrefied top. The electronics are all new as well, with a three band eq with parametric mid, you can get just about any tone you want out of it.

The Guitar is comfortable and the details you see when you look at it are from guitars of a much higher price, like the wood binding.

It's hard to beat for the price.

Comments about Yamaha A1r Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Really well built and because it's Yamaha, it will never ever crack! I sometimes still get surprised by how rich and resonant this guitar is. It's a great instrument for the money, I'd put it up against most other instruments twice its price.

Comments about Yamaha A1r Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Yamaha's A1R acoustic-electric guitar is a best of both worlds solution for players of all skill levels. Shaped to Yamaha's Traditional Western Body, its Sitka and rosewood body gives the guitar a set of fantastic acoustic qualities. The A.R.E treatment definitely does make a difference if both the feel and tone of the guitar and that is evident upon your first play. The A1R comes stringed with elixir nanowebs out the box and they couldn't help but make this guitar that much better

    Great guitar for the money

Comments about Yamaha A1r Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Yamaha has decades of experience making great acoustic guitars especially for their price points. The new A series is no exception to that heritage of great acoustic instruments. You start with a tried and true tonewood combination Solid Sitka Spruce Top and Rosewood back and sides. The Western style body with cutaway works exceptionally well for flatpickers and strummers while offering easy access to the upper registers. The top being solid will improve with age as the guitar gets played more. But Yamaha didn't stop there. Tusq nut and saddle will transmit all the energy from your strings to the body with a brilliant open tone. Built in electronics mean you're ready to gig. Updated scalloped bracing not only give you a rich tone but also excellent projection. The guitar came strung with Elixirs which is an excellent string and the stock tuning machines seem to operate smoothly and hold tune well. My favorite feature is the high comfort neck design the rolled edges give it a wonderful aged/played in feel straight out of the box. If you are looking for a great sounding acoustic that will improve over the years and get better everyday check out the Yamaha A1R today! I'd encourage you to get the setup plan and check out a Gator Transit series bag and Oasis combo Hydrometer/Humidifer to protect your investment as the wood on an acoustic guitar will be more susceptible to changes in humidity and temperature.
