The Blue Bluebird is a quality, affordable solution for recording just about anything that makes a sound.

If you’re looking for a value priced large-diaphragm condenser microphone but are staggered by the choices — and these days there are tons of ’em — stop pulling your hair out and start tracking in rich, high fidelity. The Blue Bluebird is an affordable solution for recording vocals, acoustic guitars, drums, percussion, horns, piano, strings… just about anything that makes a sound. Don’t be fooled by its affordable price. This mic absolutely rocks (and sings) on so many sources.

The Blue Bluebird is set at a cardioid pattern and boasts discrete Class A circuitry, making it perfect for vocals, acoustic guitar and directional pointing at the source of an instrument’s sound. Its frequency response is on par with microphones costing much more, but you’d never know it from listening or from looking at it! The Bluebird is one helluva looker with the classic styling Blue Microphones are famous for.

The construction feels sturdy and should stand the test of time. It’s extremely quiet so don’t be afraid to put it up in even the most critical of recording situations. You’ll capture all of the details in full, broad style and start pondering about adding a second Bluebird to your arsenal for stereo recording.

Blue Microphones has put the Bluebird in a beautiful package that screams value. It comes packed in a classic wood case, has a specially-designed shockmount called the Birdnest and a Birdnest metal-mesh pop filter that fits right onto the microphone to help reduce plosives, S’s and such. Top it off with a certificate of authenticity and you’re holding a future classic in your hands. Now let it fly!

Comments about Blue Microphones Bluebird Cardioid Condenser Microphone:

Blue's Bluebird Cardioid Condenser Microphone sounds smoother through the mid-range and upper mid-range, but with a sparkly brightness towards the top. It works well though, and has a crispness and clarity that suits most music styles. The pop screen works well and looks great too.The Bluebird Cardioid Condenser Microphone on a clarinet and sax have great results as well as on percussionist instruments. Overall this is a great Cardioid mic with the clarity and features of a Super Cardioid. This is a real hands-on product review from Rick @ Sam Ash Phoenix.

Comments about Blue Microphones Bluebird Cardioid Condenser Microphone:

Blue microphones are known for their superb quality and value, and this is no exception. As soon as you pick it up, the Bluebird's steel body and tight construction is immediately evident and you know that you're holding something that will last a very long time. Once you plug it in and start using it, you can instantly hear how good the mic sounds. Its response is very even and accurate, making it an excellent choice whether you are recording vocals, acoustic guitar, horns/strings or even choirs (a pair works even better). Its circuitry is very quiet, so you can record the most subtle audio nuances without having to worry about background hum or hiss. It also comes with an included shock mount and pop filter, meaning you are ready to get started as soon as you open the box!

I was looking to get the matched pair of Rode mics; since they were out of stock, Luke recommended this. I own a Baby Bottle, so I decided to try this one. Got a pair. Really like to sound of this mic going into my Focusrite Pre. Very clean sound. Very rich sound!

Comments about Blue Microphones Bluebird Cardioid Condenser Microphone:

For the price you can't go wrong with the Bluebird. I used it recently for a few different female vocalists and I really enjoyed the sharpness in the microphone. It is known for its 2-4k bump and I really enjoy how it takes a vocal and puts it in the front of the mix. If you are looking for a very full microphone I would not recommend the bluebird but if you are looking for that high end sharp tone...don't hesitate, buy the Bluebird!

This mic is a simple mic. No crazy marketing schemes or tons of buttons. They would be unnecessary. This is a high quality studio mic. By far the best for it's price.
Simple, elegant, and easy on the eyes as well.
The low impedance is a plus as well. Great value, you won't be disappointed!
