Comments about Peavey 6505 Plus Guitar Amplifier Head:

Over my playing career I have owned over 10 different 5150 & 6505 series amplifiers. They are a tried and true work horse in the metal community and you have heard them on nearly every record in the genre. If you want an instant metal tone out of the box with not much EQ fiddeling then look no further. The 6505 shares the EQ between both channels as opposed to the + variant. Their gain stage tubes are also in different slots and many including myself think the 6505 is more aggressive sounding then the + model.

Comments about Peavey 6505 Plus Guitar Amplifier Head:

I'm running a Marshall 1960 Lead 300 Watt Cab with Mine Awsome Combo for RAW Power mixed with Great Metal Distortion from this Amp . It would be nice to have a bit better Clean Tone but it's still a Good One when I'v played it with my MXR Carbon Copy Delay.

It has the Tone and True Sound of Metal Bands like TRIVIUM and Kill Switch Engaged which I Love . I Can't wait to plug in a Strymon LiveWire Delay Pedal , Carl Martin Head Room Reverb and Ibanez Tube Screamer or Boost Pedal up to this MONSTER ... Very Happy and Glad I Bought this AWSOME Amp .

Comments about Peavey 6505 Plus Guitar Amplifier Head:

This is THE hardcore/metal head. Amazing gain, tight reponse and the mids do need to be tweaked. You will hear that it is nearly impossible to get a good clean tone out of the 6505 series. Those people have the 6505 regular that have only 1 eq for both channels to share. Do it right, get the plus head. 2 seperate eq mixes makes it easy to get a good clean. Wish it had reverb though, nothing a Holy Grail pedal cant fix though. Since i bought this head 3 friendds have done the same.
