The New Standard in Active Loudspeakers.

The QSC K12 is a 12-inch, 2-way active loudspeaker system featuring an all-new 1000 Watt QSC Class D power module outputting a remarkable 131 dB (peak). The K12 deep-throw DMT(TM) (Directivity Matched Transition) 75-degree dispersion pattern (vertical or horizontal) provides for even coverage of its 48 Hz - 20 kHz frequency response across the entire sound field, eliminating unnatural "dead" or "hot" zones in the audience area. Extensive DSP featuring Intrinsic Correction(TM) and DEEP(TM) provide for levels of total sonic performance that defy the system's size and weight while GuardRail(TM) protection, first introduced on our GX Series amplifiers protect both the amplifier module and your performance from unnatural and destructive clipping.

Combo XLR and 1/4" TRS inputs accept both Mic and Line Level input while a set of RCA phono inputs allow additional connectivity to portable MP3 players, CD players and line-level mixers. Up to three audio sources can be mixed internally and summed to a balanced output for "daisy-chaining" of multiple units. Separate direct outputs are also provided on each channel for additional output flexibility.

On-board switches provide preset EQ settings. The HF setting can be set to VOCAL BOOST for additional presence in the critical mid frequency area or FLAT for accurate reproduction of the incoming signal. The LF switch can be set to NORM, DEEP(TM) for additional bass extension or EXT SUB for use with an external subwoofer. The rear panel LED switch can be set to POWER, illuminating the front-mounted LED when the unit is powered on, OFF for applications where it is not desirable to illuminate the front LED, or LIMIT which indicates to the system operator that the clip limiter circuit has been engaged during operation.

The entire system is housed in a rugged ABS enclosure with a professional appearance that is at home in any application. ABS is a far more robust material than conventional speaker plastics and offers an additional measure of sonic clarity due to its internal rigidity. Ergonomic aluminum handles and a highly protective steel grill complete the package for ease of transport and long term durability.

The K12 also features a unique Tilt-Direct(TM) pole cup mounting system. A simple turn of the dial engages a 7.5 degree downward tilt of the speaker allowing acoustic energy to be kept on the audience and off reflective surfaces for applications where maximum coverage from a high-positioned speaker is desired. Integrated M10 suspension points allow for suspended applications with an M10 Fly Kit (sold separately) or K8 Yolk (sold separately). The K10 can also be turned horizontally and used as a floor monitor. Due to its conical coverage pattern, no additional modifications are needed. Additionally, the locking IEC power cable helps prevent the unit from being powered-off by accidental tripping on the cable.

Remote gain control capability is offered via a potentiometer (not included) connected to the on-board Euroblock connector. In an installed application, multiple K Series speakers can be "daisy-chained" for total gain control from a single remote pot.

The k 12 is a great speaker! I mostly use them for stage monitors but when I have a smaller show (mainly singer song writer) I use them as my mains. Couldn't ask for a better speaker.

Comments about QSC K12 12" Powered PA Cabinet:

First off, these are not bad. They look good and have some very usefull I/O options. The problem with these speakers is the marketing. They in no way, shape, or form use 1000 watts of power. The amp modules in these are 2 seperate amplifiers which may be capable of producing 500w. 1 amp for LF, 1 amp for HF. No prblem with the bi-amped design. Most powered speakers are made that way. The problem is I don't think a tweeter has been made that will take 500 watts. Most handle about 40 watts continuous. So the high amp is probably putting out about 50 watts. The bottom amp is also maybe using 350 watts. Which would mean at BEST this speaker is using about 400 watts. Far less than 1000 watts advertised. If you'd like to hear a good comparison. Listen to a K12 compared to an EV SXA-360. The EV speaker is rated at 500 watts total, 350w LF & 150w HF, and it KILLS the K series in output and sound quality. It's not even close. The K12 also has somewhat of a smeered mid range thing that I don't like. In the end this speaker isn't terrible, but it in no way lives up to the hype. Take a listen for yourself, and remember I told you so. Good luck

Comments about QSC K12 12" Powered PA Cabinet:

I saw these and picked them up as soon as possible. I use them on top of 2 HPRi18 powered subs. I cannot say enough about how balanced my system sounds WITHOUT EQing! The functionality built into the back of these speakers leaves nothing to the imagination. I dont believe they sound any different with two 500 watt amps as opposed to one 1000 watt amp. The wattage still needs to be split to the driver and horn anyway! Dedicated amps to each component allows for better tuning and control. Well done QSC. If you pick these up, dont forget the QSC Tote bag to protect your investment.

Comments about QSC K12 12" Powered PA Cabinet:

I bought the QSC K12 and Mackie SRM450v2. I placed them side by side and ran tests ranging from simple microphones, MP3 player, keyboard to a complete band sound. You will be disappointed. First of all K12 are NOT 1000W. That's a marketing lie. I spoke to their support and the speakers have two (2) not bridged 500W amps, so at the best you will get 500W at Clip level power. For my test I had my mixer set to flat and speaker level set to unity (0). No comparison. Mackie's had a much cleaner and fuller (wider)sound. K12 were a bit tighter on the si=ound, but no definition for mids and highs, even though they have a dedicated 500W amp. K12's look nice and are light, but for the money the sound was bad.

I purchased a pair of k12's and Im extremely impressed!! The person who sold me 'em, Eddie from the ontario store was extremely helpful, and knowledgeable, and showed me different options. In my mind, these are the best powered speakers out there under $1000.00. If your interested in getting a lot for your money, the K12's are the best bang for your buck!! very loud, crisp, clean, light, and best of all reliable! QSC did a great job on these!! pick a pair up, you wont regret it!
