The HS7 Monitor is designed as a true reference monitor with exceptionally flat response. If your mix sounds good here, it'll sound good everywhere.

The elegant white-cone speakers used in the HS-series monitors deliver superlative audio performance that is further enhanced by a carefully engineered mounting system. A system of screws and a specially designed mounting ring eliminates spurious vibration and resonance, allowing the speaker to deliver its full sonic potential.

Another feature that boosts woofer performance is a magnet selected to produce accurate, solid low-end response. The tweeter frames employ an advanced smooth-contour design that minimizes losses so that high-frequency details come through with remarkable accuracy. The extra thickness of the tweeter frame also minimizes resonance that can interfere with high-end clarity. The overall result is extraordinarily smooth, accurate response throughout the audio spectrum.

Optimum Response In Any Room
Speaker response can vary greatly depending on the size, shape, and surface acoustics of the room in which they're used, as well as how they're placed within that environment. The HS50M and HS80M give you extra room-matching and speaker placement versatility with ROOM CONTROL, MID EQ, and HIGH TRIM response control switches that are specifically designed to compensate for common acoustic deficiencies and monitoring needs.

The ROOM CONTROL switch, for example, can be used to compensate for the unnatural low-end exaggeration that usually occurs when speakers are placed close to walls or in corners. The MID EQ switch gives you subtle midrange boost and cut options in addition to flat response, while the HIGH TRIM switch offer the same type of response-tailoring capability for the high frequencies.

Large Magnets in an Advanced Magnetic Circuit Design
One feature of the HS-series monitors that you'll hear but are not likely to see is the extra large magnets. In combination with an advanced magnetic circuit design these magnets provide a powerful, uniform, tightly controlled flux field that results in exceptionally smooth response and dynamic capability over a wider frequency range.

Comments about Yamaha HS7 Two-way 6.5" Active Monitor (Single):

The HS Yamaha series is based on the legendary NS-10 of yesteryear. That model was known for a specific mid-high frequency drop that let one compare mixes accurately. The new models are equally as specific and cost far less in addition to being active and not passive.

Comments about Yamaha HS7 Two-way 6.5" Active Monitor (Single):

All I can say about the Yamaha HS7 is you'd be missing out if you purchased something else in this price range. These are the caliber of monitors you can just close your eyes, listen, and be wowed. What I like about the monitors: 1. Clarity - Very nice high, mid, and low. Well balanced. The tweeter is very crisp and clear, but not stressful on the ear.
          Nice one Yamaha!

Comments about Yamaha HS7 Two-way 6.5" Active Monitor (Single):

The HS7 has very good detail sound in the midrange and hi frequency, I would say the vocal sound stands out better than the HS8 and HS5. The built quality is exceptional. The front logo lights up looks good but it is a little bit too.
I am very happy with these HS7's

Comments about Yamaha HS7 Two-way 6.5" Active Monitor (Single):

Yamaha has been a leader in the music industry for years when it comes to drums, guitars, live and recording gear. They've designed a great speaker monitor in the HS7, it provides a fantastic response for play back in the studio and at a great price point as well. Very crisp, clear and focused. Small enough as well for studios with limited space. Great quality product from a great brand!

These speakers really speak for themselves. They are hands down the best for your home studio. The mix comes through perfect so you can hear exactly what you need to do to make that song sing. They bass response is minimal so you don't get drowned out while going in for the final mix.

Extemely accurate and flat monitors for the price. With 5in speakers typically lacking in bass, these compensate, and get you the bass you need without adding a sub. They are the flattest things I've heard without stepping up to $600 a speaker, and you can fine tune them to your room quite easily. Super great for mixing, and general playback.
