The Fender American Standard Telecaster Electric Guitar delivers traditional tone, feel, and style, without the vintage guitar price tag.
Sixty years ago, the Fender Telecaster arrived and changed the music world. The Telecaster has been a signature instrument for guitarists throughout the decades: Jimmy Bryant, Muddy Waters, Albert Collins, Roy Buchanan, Bruce Springsteen, Joe Strummer, Merle Haggard, Danny Gatton have all forged a legacy of historic recordings, and that’s just naming a few. Now you can possess the tone of these legends with that classic design and a few modern upgrades.Combining vintage specs with a few modern appointments, features include an alder body now finished in a thinner coat for improved resonance. The body of the newest American Standard Telecaster features a comfortable new body contour for maximum player comfort. The electronics include a Fender Custom Shop Twisted Tele (neck) and Broadcaster (bridge) pickups. The simple schematic of one volume, one tone control, and 3-way pickup selector has spanned the entire 60 years of the Telecaster’s existence: proving that a good thing should never be messed with. Fender has improved on this classic formula with a Delta-tone no-load circuit. The no-load tone pot works like a standard tone knob from positions 1-9, but at 10, it is removed from the wiring completely so that you get the full, unadulterated sonic output of your pickup. It means more output and more treble without using a booster pedal or active controls.
The maple neck has the classic vintage tint and is available with a maple or rosewood fingerboard. The fretboard boasts a more updated 9.5” radius and medium jumbo frets, which make for more luxurious string bending. The profile is a comfortable modern C-shape, with a satin finished back and rolled edges. The chrome hardware includes modern staggered tuners for better string angle across the nut, an American Standard Bridge Plate with a brass plate) for improved resonance, and 6 individual bent steel saddles. Finally, a protective, hardshell case is included along with a cable, strap, and polishing cloth.
