The TAMA Silverstar Drum Sets deliver a level of quality, sound and strength that you would expect from very expensive drums but at a more affordable price. Available in several different configurations and finishes, the TAMA Silverstar VL62S 6-piece shell kit drum set featured here is a “2-up, 2-down” configuration that includes 8”x10” and 9”x12” toms on a slide-able double tom holder on the 18”x22” bass drum and two floor toms, 12”x14” and 14”x16”. A matching 5”x14” snare drum completes the drum set.
Tama returns to its roots with its all-birch-shell Silverstar. And in this new age of frugality, the drum world has taken notice. “Powerful”, “Well-built”, “Versatile”, “Half the price the thought they would cost!” are some of the comments made by pro drummers. The Silverstar line is the perfect example of Tama being always able to deliver extraordinary quality at a reasonable price. 100% first quality birch shells, hardened steel triple-flanged hoops and an improved Star-Mount suspension system with a sliding tom holder. Even in tight times, Tama makes dreams come true.
Here are some important features:
• All Birch Shells: Carefully selected birch materials are utilized for the Silverstar 6-ply, 6mm shells (the bass drum is 7-ply, 7mm). Tama uses the same manufacturing process and methods to create Silverstar that they use to build their high-end drums. The result is an instrument that exhibits a powerful sound, a rich tone and a warm resonance usually found in more expensive drums.
• New Star-Mount System for mounting the toms: The new Star-Mount System was designed to increase the resonance of the drums. Four minimal contact points suspend the drum without touching the shell and provide maximum tone and resonance.
• Swiveling Eye Bolts: The tom brackets feature eyebolts that swivel from side to side so they are never in the way when you reposition your toms.
• Slide-able Tom Holder: The MTH905N double tom holder makes it possible to move your toms forward or backward simply by using a drum key to adjust the locking tension bolt. Tama is known for their extremely rugged and precisely adjustable double tom holders.
• New Low-Mass Lug: Silverstar drums feature newly designed separate lugs. Because these new lugs make less contact with the surface of the shell, the drums resound more freely and clearly.
TAMA has researched and worked very hard to bring the best sound and qualities of their professional drum set lines to a more affordable drum set and has succeeded brilliantly with the Silverstar line.
