The sound character of the PAISTE Twenty Masters 22” Dark Ride Cymbal is warm, smoky, breathy, with a fairly wide range and a complex mix. A soft feel with a quick response. Very crashable but controllable with a peppery stick sound over a dark layered oriental, smoky wash. It is a sophisticated ride cymbal that can easily be used in a small jazz club setting and can also flourish in other styles such as pop, cabaret, blues or country music. The 22” responds with a deeper center pitch than the 20” version.
New in 2011, the PAISTE Twenty Masters Collection is an assemblage of exquisite and laboriously hand-manufactured cymbals made of CuSn20 bronze to achieve superior sound ideals in various musical genres. The Twenty Masters ride cymbal models bring together the experience of the decades long art of cymbal making with the inspirations of international top drummers. Features include:

The 20" Dark Crash Ride is slightly lighter, and provides a bit more wash but features the same vintage-earthy timbre as the Dark Ride.
