Ovation’s proven legendary roundback design give the Ovation 1778TX-4C a potent, balanced tone that players will love. The soundboard of the 1778TX-4C is made from AA grade solid cedar with scalloped ‘X’ bracing. The thin satin finish on the soundboard allows the cedar to “breathe’ and enhance the tonal response. The satin finish also gives off a vintage vibe that’s comfortable to hold. A cutaway on the lower bout offers access to the upper register notes and will satisfy the demands of today’s player who want to maximize their soloing capacities.
The Lyrachord composite Mid-Depth Contour Bowl project the acoustic tone perfectly. An eastern Mahogany 25 ¼” scale neck features a rosewood fingerboard with a slim profile and low action that electric guitarists will love. Smaller players will find the Mid-Depth Bowl design incredibly comfortable to hold. The hardware is rounded out by a set of Ovation tuners.
Other features of this guitar include a Rosewood bridge that make string changes easy and quick, and a preamp with an Ovation OCP-1K pickup for easy sound control on stage with a perfect string-to-string balance, while pumping out a punchy tone with crystal clear highs.
