THE MODULE
The SuperNATURAL-powered Roland TD-11 drum module provides incredible playability and performance with unparalleled sound. It also offers a variety of top of the line features including backing songs, Quick Record/Quick Play, a COACH function, USB port, MIDI out, and Auxiliary in.
The new sensory technology combined with Roland’s behavior modeling system helps to create a smooth, natural feel with unrivaled sound and response. This guarantees acoustic players a seamless transition into the world of electronics while improving upon the Roland features you already loved. We’re sure you’ll also go head over heels for the numerous play-along programs Roland added to this module.
The WARM UP program allows you to create a series of user friendly exercises designed to get you loose and ready to play. Once your fingers and wrists have woken up you can move on to the more advanced coaching features of the TD-11.
Time Check
Drummers have often been called “the back bone of any good band” since we’re the ones keeping the beat, and because everyone else follows us, it’s absolutely essential that we are in time. The folks at Roland know how important timing is to us, which is exactly why they created the Time Check feature. This is an outstanding tool that every drummer should have the privilege of using. The Time Check provides a steady, metronomic click track for you to play along to, dislike other metronomes this one will actually grade your performance. There’s also a “quiet count” feature that makes the metronome drop out for a few bars. This really puts your sense of time to the test, and forces you to build up your internal clock.
Roland Wireless Connect
The TD-11 is also compatible with the Air Recorder and V-Drums Friend Jam apps for the iPhone. These new apps alongside the Roland Wireless Connect system allow you to connect your Roland instrument to your iPhone! The “Air Record” feature allows you to wirelessly send data between your Roland instrument and your iPhone, while the “V-Drums Friend Jam” allows you to compete against drummers from all over the world. Here’s how it works, you to pick a song to play along to and when you’re finished “V-Drums Friend Jam” will give you a score, and rank you amongst other drummers around the world. You can even integrate your twitter account by posting your score with “#friendjam” so you can connect with other V-Drums users from across the globe.
Pre-Loaded Songs
This module also comes 14 pre-loaded songs that span a variety of styles and genres. This will help keep you sharp in your off time away from the band. There’s also a “Mix In” line so you can hook up your CD/MP3 player and jam to some of your favorite songs. The QUICK REC program allows you to record your performance and listen back in real-time. This definitely comes in handy when you’re trying to learn a pesky cover tune, or a more advanced fill.
THE KIT
Mesh-Head V-Pad™ for Snare
The PDX-8 mesh V-Pad features Roland’s amazing dual-triggering technology. This results in accurate and even sensitivity between the head and rim. It offers an expanded 10-inch rim for more comfortable and quiet rim-shots.
The toms are equipped with the durable PD-8A which features a 8.5-inch rubber pad that offers super-accurate triggering and a time-tested design for years of reliable use.
Compact and Practical Hi-Hat Combination
The CY-5 cymbal pad for hi-hat features a 10-inch playing zone and natural swing movement. It also provides separate bow and edge triggering. With the FD-8 Hi-Hat Controller, drummers can get realistic hi-hat sounds with smooth transitions between open and closed positions.
Natural-Feel Kick Pad
With new mechanics and a cloth-designed bass drum head, the KD-9 provides a great feel, dynamic response, and solid playability even when you’re using a double pedal. Say good by to the slap of that rubber bass drum pad with the Roland KD-9.
