The Yamaha BB234 4-String Bass Guitar delivers quality craftsmanship and tone at an extremely affordable price.

The latest in Yamaha's storied BB series of bass guitars delivers the superb sound and build quality that this series is known for in a smaller body with even better playability. Featuring custom-wound pickups that achieve higher output gain while retaining the classic BB voicing, the new lineup of BB basses are a testament to Yamaha’s commitment to musical excellence. The BB234 Bass features a contoured solid alder body with classic original 1977 BroadBass styling. The 34” scale maple neck features a fast, ultra-comfortable profile and a rosewood fingerboard.

The BB234 Bass is outfitted with Yamaha’s V3 ceramic pickups; with a split single-coil P style pickup, along with a single coil J style pickup in the bridge position. BroadBass is back!

Based on the BroadBass of the 70's, this is a great player without killing your budget. For an inexpensive bass it both plays and sounds extremely well. The BB's of the 70's were always nice and this one brings back that great vintage feel and sound that the original's had. I have played these in the studio before to break sounds and tone's up...it did the job and did it well.

Great Beginner Bass

The BB234 is Yamaha's latest entry in their BB series of bass guitars. Outfitted with custom wired ceramic pickups and a contoured solid alder body with styling very reminiscent of the classic BroadBass from 1977. A 34" scale length with a rosewood fingerboard and maple neck make for a very easy to play bass. Keep in mind that this guitar isn't sold with a gig bag and one would need to be purchased seperately

This new model Yamaha bass is fantastic for its price! It has a superior tone and playability, way better than the price tag would originally have you think. And the color looks great too!

    Yamaha does it again

If you're in the market for an affordably priced well built bass guitar with cool retro styling and the versatility to blend into just about any musical setting check out this Yamaha BB234 bass today. For the money it's just plain tough to beat Yamaha as they have decades of experience building basses. You start with an excellent Alder body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, 34" scale length, great finish quality, good quality tuners that hold tune, vintage style bridge with individually adjustable saddles, ceramic P and J style pickups, and a simple to dial in electronic setup (two volumes and a master tone). I love the look and sound of the instrument as it definitely hearkens back to the vintage era while offering playability, intonation, and versatility of a modern instrument. The materials and parts used are all excellent quality doesn't seem like they cut any corners. I'd suggest one of the Gator Transit series gig bags and some D'Addario NYXL strings as a few great add ons as this bass doesn't include a bag/case and the NYXL bass strings play and sound great. Also be sure to get the setup plan to protect your investment and keep it playing it's best.
